A Spoiler Free Review of Star Wars: The Last Jedi

A lot has been going on in the world right now. With the constant arguments about who’s for and who’s against some political development or another, it can be hard to focus on other things that seem less important. However, we cannot overlook the most important event of the year for all the nerds out there, which is the release of The Last Jedi, the newest addition to the widely popular Star Wars saga. In the movie, old questions were answered, and new questions were asked, but all in all, the excitement among fans is hard to ignore.

Some say that the 8th film is the best one since the original trilogy. Others, that it was not the fantastic movie that they were expecting. Some even started a petition to re-do the movie, saying that it wasn’t good enough. Although the fans don’t quite know what they think of the movie yet, I can at least give my own opinion.

Saying what I thought of it is difficult to do without giving anything away, but I will try. From the start, my first opinion was not good. I thought that the beginning was too choppy, jumping around to different people too quickly and adding plot developments that led to nowhere. It also had a lot of goofy comedy, which isn’t very characteristic of the saga. I was disappointed, until about 45 minutes into the movie, when suddenly it became absolutely amazing. Though the plot may not have been as good as the previous movie, The Force Awakens, there were more moments which can only be described as epic. I fondly remember being in the theater and listening to the whole room cheer during a particularly phenomenal part.

All in all, this is a great movie to watch. I highly recommend going to see it. Although I did not enjoy the beginning, the end makes up for it in every way. Whether you love Star Wars or not, this is a great movie to enjoy with friends and family.
